Shipping time and delivery for perishable items

Shipping is free for orders over $59.00. We ship cheese and meat through U.S. Priority Mail. In the last few weeks, I've noticed longer than usual delivery times from the US Postal Service, for which I apologize. The longer transit times will not affect the quality of your cheese, as Raclette is a semi-hard cheese that does not require refrigeration; however, please be aware that the warming during transport can affect the appearance of the cheese in its packaging, and that changes in appearance should not affect its taste and quality.  Because transit times are currently somewhat unpredictable, if you need your shipment before a set date, please select expedited shipment at checkout. Currently all shipping carriers have suspended time in transit guarantees, and delays are common. Next Day Air and 2nd Day Air are still prioritized and are the fastest shipping methods. I apologize for any delays with the postal service that are out of my control.

When will my order ship? 
All in-stock items will ship the next business day after we receive your order. You will be notified when your order has shipped and where you can track your order. In the unusual event that an item is on back-order we will notify you as soon as we get your order. Perishable items usually ship Monday to Wednesday, depending of the destination. 

When will the cheese ship? 
If you choose ground shipping, the cheese will ship on Monday through Wednesday following your order. The cheese is shipped on ice. Most destinations can be reached within 3 days. Please don't expect that the ice packs are still frozen. We ship with ice and foil to keep the cheese at a cooler temperature. Raclette cheese is a semi hard cheese and does not have to kept cold at all time. In the summer month you might receive a package with relative warm and soft cheese. Just place in the refrigerator and it will be just fine. Our preferred shipping method is US priority mail. It's usually faster than FedEx or UPS and helps us keep our cost down. Please understand that we can not be liable if the shipper does not deliver in the promised time. The only way to have guaranteed delivery is to chose 2nd day air during check out as shipping method. However we are trying to keep the cheese as cold as possible, therefore we can’t ship over a weekend since that would prolong the delivery time. If you need the cheese faster, you can choose 3rd, 2nd day or overnight shipping during checkout. If you order today before 4.00 pm, your expedited shipment will go out the next day. IF time allows a delivery before the weekend. If in doubt, please don’t hesitate to call or email us. To avoid expedited shipping charges we ship the cheese on ice. We will charge you a fee of $4.00 to cover the cost of ice and foil.  

Shipping time
All in stock item will ship the next business day with the carrier that allows fastest delivery. We will notify you by email of any delay. If you need faster delivery you can choose 3rd day air, 2nd day air or overnight delivery during checkout.

The additional shipping charge will be based on actual shipping costs. Items ordered together may not arrive in the same box. Sample of shipping time for an order received on Monday will ship on Tuesday:

Ground shipping: 3-4 business days
3rd day air: delivery on Friday
2nd day air: delivery on Thursday
overnight: delivery on Wednesday. If you order before 12 p.m. we might be able to ship same day. Please confirm with us by phone 605 332 5572
Liability
Please understand that we can not be held liable for packages that are lost or stolen. We ship with tracking information and communicate that with our customers. Unfortunately, in rare occasions a shipment is marked delivered but the customer didn't receive it. In that case please make a claim with the shipping company. The package is shipped insured. 

Shipping Charge
In the continental US, ground shipping is FREE for any orders totaling $59 or higher. A flat rate of $7.90 for an order amount of less than $35 and a flat rate of $9.90 for orders of less than $59 will be applied. A flat rate of $25 is added for shipping to AK, HI, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. Shipping to Canada is offered with US postal service or UPS and charged accordingly (options available at check out). We can't ship perishable items to Canada! We reserve the right to use a different shipping method. If you need expedited service, see Shipping Time above. 

Shipping Destination 
We deliver anywhere in the US and US territories and Canada (only non-perishable items). Due to higher shipping charges we have to collect an additional fee of $25 for ground shipments to Hawaii, Alaska and the US territories. Expedited shipping options are available at check out.
International Customers 
We can ship all non-perishable items to Canada, shipping charge calculated at check out, US postal service or UPS are the available shipping options. Return Policy
Every item we sell is backed by our 100% satisfaction guarantee. If, for any reason, you are not satisfied with your purchase, simply return the item within 10 days after receipt for an exchange or a refund, following the steps below. The item needs to be unused and in its original packaging. Please be aware that shipping and handling fees cannot be refunded. All items returned are subject to a 20% re-stocking fee. The re-stocking fee may be waived for exchanges. Please note that we can NOT accept the return of food items. Sales of perishable items are final unless you have concerns regarding the quality of the product you have received in which case we'd ask you to call us at 605 332 5572. Make sure to insure the package to its full value. We can’t be responsible for any damage that occur during the return shipment and won’t accept damaged goods.
Enclose a copy of your Delivery Note, be sure to indicate your preference for an exchange or refund.
Note the return code number provided by Customer Service, shipping and handling charges are not refundable.
We cannot accept C.O.D. packages. Most exchanges and returns will be processed within three weeks of receipt.

Cancellation
If you have to cancel your order you can do so free of charge if the item(s) has not been shipped already. Otherwise we need to charge you a 20% re-stocking fee for returned items (see return policy). We reserve the right to cancel an order at any time. No rain checks on sales items.
